Microblading vs Tattooing? Which is right for you.
Here are some Microblading Faq’s to help you decide if Microblading or Tattooing is right for you.
The only difference is the tool used. Same technique (hair strokes). One is a hand tool (microblading) and one is a digital tool (tattooed hair strokes).
2.) Will the results be the same?
The results will be the same if done correctly with a fine needle set up.
3.) Does microblading and tattooing hair strokes last the same amount of time?
The microlading hair strokes are more superficially placed in the skin and will last about 12 to 18 months. This is due to the fact that the pigment placement depth under the skin is not as precise when manually applied. The tattooed hair strokes by machine can be set to a certain depth depending on the thickness of the skin. The pigment placement is precisely the same for each hair stoke as the machine is set to a precise particular depth. The tattooed hair strokes last between 24 to 40 months. (About 2-3 times longer.)
4.) Is the cost comparable?
An “experienced” artist will charge about the same for either process.
5.) How many applications will each one require?
Microblading needs 2 to 3 applications to achieve desirable results. Tattooed hair strokes can usually be done in one application. About 25% will require a touch up depending on the amount of naturally existing brow hair.
6.) How is the process itself different?
Microblading is a blade that cuts the hair stroke into the skin. There is a chance of possible scarring the skin if done too many times in the same area. Tattooed hair strokes are less invasive to the skin as it is more like stitching the hair stroke into the skin leaving the skin more intact.
